Answered Prayers
Wow! What an exciting week it has been. On Saturday, our team had the privilege to help lead an outreach program in the squatter camp of Kya Sands. This truly has been as answer to prayers! A life group from one of the local modern churches called GodFirst, approached Impact Africa’s staff in hopes to aiding their efforts in the local community. These believers showed evident signs of Mt. 22:37, loving God with all their heart. They arrived ready and willing to do whatever it took to share the love of Christ. The scripture goes on in verse 39 to say, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” This was the first time that any of these white South Africans, who live only miles away, had set foot in a squatter camp, especially with the cease of apartheid in the nation happening only a little over a decade ago. It was beautiful to see such practical ministry being poured out on both ends as the walls that have been built up through hostility and war, slowly came crumbling down. Many were moved by the sights they witnessed first hand in the camps. Pure and genuine compassion flowed so freely as everyone strapped on their boots, prepared to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.
Praise the Lord for answering prayers of the ministry and the Holy Spirit for stirring up desires within the local church to help change and transform their nation!
