1 month aniversary
Happy ONE MONTH Anniversary!
Today is such a pivotal day in this experience. Not only have we been here for one whole month, but we have our newest addition to the team, JV, who is coming in TODAY! We are all beyond excitement for his arrival. In a matter of hours, we will be heading to the airport to get him. We made him some welcome signs at the office today too! (Now that my main focus and job is child development, all drawings resemble children :D )
So far, these past few weeks so much has happened. God is moving incredibly in our hearts and drawing an awesome unity within our team. Each person has received there specific ministry placement, as far as office work goes, and its so cool to see how each description molds so well with our hearts and passions for this ministry. I have been blessed with the opportunity to be the Child Development Representative, which includes an array of sub descriptions. My focus will be mainly on data mining and research for the time being, but also a huge amount of tangible, practical work. One of my favorite parts about this job is working with ImpactKids :D
Here is just a few sneak peak photos from our fun days at Impact Kids. Every Friday, we have the opportunity to go and aid the teachers, as well as do some teaching ourselves. Last week, Micah and I had the 2-4 year old class, while Bobbi and Emma helped with the 5-6 year olds. Our day began with a warm welcome and hugs from every kid, then one by one, each kid counted all the way to 10(in english)! What a huge feat for such a young age, not to mention the language barrier depleted. Then we talked about the color of the week, which happened to be green and spent some time engaging their motor skills simply by coloring. We also helped each student draw a triangle, since that was the color they were learning. After snack and playtime outside, Micah shared a great lesson on healthy eating, placing an emphasis on eggs. We sang songs like "Fishing For Jesus," "Read your bible," "Head and shoulders," and "Jesus loves me!" During craft time, we created an activity to incorporate all of the learning items for the week (Green, triangles, 3, and eggs). What an exciting time we had! Can't wait until next week :)
Walk in Him,
Katie

This is the first glance of the school from the road, strategically set up to create a safe environment for the children.
